I was bet against in middle school when a coach told me I'd never play basketball in high school. It was not the type of rah rah let-me-talk-down-about-you-so-you'll-rise-up-and-show-me pep talk, but rather said with an intent to completely demoralize me. Not only did I play basketball at a high level high school, but I went on to play small-time college ball, which is more than many others who made is "approved" list can say.
Wow!! First off, what is with these people who think it’s ever a good idea to demoralize young teens and tweens?? I had a similar “pep talk” once at a very critical time in my life, and I still wonder what possessed that man. But I love love love how your story ends, with proving the coach so wrong!! 👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼
