So honest. I love all the thoughtful questions your kids are asking (most of them I also do not have answers to!) Your imagery here was really beautiful and vivid. Thanks for sharing, Joy.

Fixing the broken world. The question of the ages! I guess I would also tell Wyatt that God does want the world fixed. That is the job God asks us to partner with him and others in doing.

Yes! I agree and believe that for sure! That was what I was trying to get at by telling him that He wants us to help others who are hurting.

Thank you for sharing this, Joy. Such a simple snapshot of your family's walk but then it went really deep. I still wrestle with much of these same questions! So beautiful.

Thanks, friend! I originally had the idea to go a different direction with this prompt, but when we got home, my husband said, "That went from simple to deep really fast!" and I felt this nudge to write this instead. Thanks for reading!

Joy, I loved this so, so much! It struck a cord with me primarily because my kids are getting older and my boys are question askers much like your children--sometimes my 10 year old's questions leave me stumped, and I often say "thats a question for your father" too, lol. I loved the arc of the story, the bits of information in between. I could feel myself on the walk and in the tension of the questions and answers. The last line was perfect. Thank you for sharing your words <3

This started so simply and then went really deep. We’ve all been on these walks with our kids. And we literally watched A Snoodles Tale this week. Love the reference.

As a mom who is asked a myriad of questions throughout the day, I really enjoyed this. Your reference to a quiz bowl is spot on! I also love the way you weave in memories and your own experiences as the questions are asked. Truly beautiful. ♥️
